![]() ![]() Each click on that icon adds a simple dissolve/cross-fade transition to two adjacent clips. Select them all (Shift + left click and drag the mouse across all the clips you want to apply the transition to, or Ctrl + A) Click on the checkered box icon right above the timeline. I have had situations where Reconform From Bins refused to reconform any clips and I had to revert to manually using Conform Lock With on each clip individually, but generally it works OK. This is how it works: align all your clips in one video track. So when I use this I usually make a new bin just for the clips to be used as the reconform target. Because it looks at a whole bin, you need to make sure that bin only contains the media file(s) you want to use, and no others (unless you can exclude the others with rules). This does usually require a bit of preparation. This allows specifying a target bin and then a list of rules to check for which clips should/should not be reconformed from the clips in that/those bin(s). To replace clips in bulk, there's File -> Reconform From Bins. I raised a feature request for the ability to use Conform Lock With on multiple clips at once, a year or so ago: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=115742) So if you need to change the media file for 10 or 100 clips at once, this can be rather slow. has to be done clip-by-clip, there's no way to do it for multiple clips at the same time. You can also assign a keyboard shortcut to this. In the timeline, right-click on the clip to replace and choose "Conform Lock With Media Pool Clip". In the Media Pool, highlight the clip to use as the replacement When finished you can adjust the effect parameters and trim for duration, one by one.To replace clips individually in Edit, you can: To create more, repeat: Mark the next section and apply the effect. That's shows the steps to create two titles on separate FX tracks. To create a new separate FX, position and duration of the marked section must not match the segment below. However, for different duration per line and to trim each line for duration separately, you need separate FX tracks, on per effect (as shown above). A marked section is the region between an in-mark and the red timeline marker (or out-mark, if present).Īpplying multiple text effects folded into a segment and unfolding them afterward won't work for your use case, because it results in multiple effects being stacked in a single FX track. The region between two cuts in the timeline is called segment. when removing the last remaining effect from an FX track - created when unfolding effects and, more important in this context, when applying an effect to a marked section. The cursor changes to show you how many clips you have selected. Mac OS X users should use the Cmd key instead of the Ctrl key. To select multiple clips, hold down the Shift or Ctrl key, and then click on each clip you want to copy. ![]() If the lines ares supposed to appear one by one, each effect needs a different starting position, usually resulting in different duration, something like so:ĭifferent from audio and video tracks, the Lightworks FX tracks are dynamic, they are created and removed automatically on demand - removed as soon as no effect is present anymore, i.e. Open the bin containing the clip or clips you want to copy. To create bullet points as shown in your screenshot, you need one title effect per line of text. I'll attach an image demo of what I'm trying to do - so the list items would come in one after the other. I've tried two separate tracks with text effects, but instead of both bits of text being visible (as I had hoped), only the top (track's) text is visible, becuase it seems to be 'promoting' the grey background and so covering up the second bit of text. Can you direct me to that in more laymans terms, please?. I'd like to "unfold" text effects as you've instructed, but I'm not sure what the timeline menu is, what a segment is, or where I can click "unfold". Click to expand.I am placing a grey j-peg background design in a second video track, above my video clips, when I want to have the word summary appear with the grey behind it, and then (in a separate fx track (?) ) a moment later have a second text appear for list item 1, which I'll (duplicate and) replace with list items 1 & 2, then with items 1, 2 & 3 etc.using free version of Lightworks. ![]()
